Frequently Asked Questions
My Chard Snyder account shows $345.00 for transit, can I use all $345.00 in my debit card this month?
Your debit card Is capped at $340/month for transit and parking, respectively. This means that you cannot use more than $340 in pre-tax funds in any given month. You will want to spend down your balance and go to Dayforce to change your contribution amount for the following month. This will then allow you to use the rollover funds the following month.
Can I use the debit card for Uber/Lyft/Via?
Can I use the debit card for biking programs, other carpools, tolls, and gas?
At this time, these items not are covered as qualified commuter expenses. You can visit Chard Snyder’s website to see what items are covered.
Can I use the debit card for van-pooling?
Yes, van-pooling is covered but we want to make sure you do not confuse this with carpooling. Van-pooling requires a commuter highway vehicle with a seating capacity of at least seven adults, including the driver. At least 80 percent of the vehicle mileage must be for transporting employees between their homes and workplace with employees occupying at least one-half of the vehicle’s seats (not including the driver’s seat). Do I need to keep receipts for debit card?
I’m leaving the firm, what happens to my Transit & Parking benefits?
You will want to ensure you’ve used up all available funds before the last day of the month in which you terminate employment. As a reminder, there is a monthly maximum of $340 in Transit and in Parking. Any funds not used by the last day of the month in which you terminate employment, are forfeited per IRS regulation.
