Flex Work Options

EAB’s goal is to foster an inclusive hybrid environment that works effectively whether employees are in the office, at home, or traveling for business. This policy does not replace the formal accommodation process. Employees seeking an accommodation should work with Talent to identify appropriate arrangements.

Flextime

  • Flextime is a work arrangement that allows adjustments to an employee’s schedule from the role’s standard hours (e.g., earlier or later start and end times), either occasionally or on a regular basis, while requiring completion of the full standard workweek hours.
  • Use of flextime is at the discretion of the employee’s manager (and department
    leader as appropriate).
  • It may involve occasional adjustments (e.g., later start and end time) or a regular schedule that differs from the role’s standard hours.
  • Employees may also use flextime in connection with the HealthyLife Wellness
Flextime Policy, with advance manager approval.

Hybrid / Non-Remote

  • Employees living within 50 miles of an office (or who choose to work from one)
    are designated as hybrid.
  • Hybrid workers split their workweek between home (or another approved offsite
location) and an assigned EAB office.
  • Hybrid schedules are set by managers and department leaders.

Part-Time Work

  • Part-time schedules require written approval from the employee’s manager, department leader, and the department’s Talent Business Partner.
  • Hours, workload, and compensation are reduced accordingly, in line with applicable law.
  • Part-time status may affect eligibility for certain benefits. Employees should
    consult Talent for details.

Remote Employment

  • Employees living more than 50 miles from an EAB office who do not regularly
work onsite are designated as remote.
  • Remote work requests are evaluated case by case with manager, department
    leader, and Talent input.
  • Approval depends on role and employee suitability; exceptions may be granted
by EAB leadership based on business needs.
  • Remote work arrangements may be changed at EAB’s discretion.

HealthyLife Wellness Flextime Policy

EAB provides flexibility during the workday for approved wellness activities. Employees may flex up to 10 hours per month, with a daily maximum of 3.5 hours. This benefit is available to regular full-time employees and to part-time employees regularly scheduled for 20 or more hours per week.

Guidelines

  • HealthyLife Wellness Hours support employees in maintaining their physical, mental, and emotional health. Permissible activities include:
    • Preventative medical or dental appointments (employee or immediate family)
    • Mental health therapy or counseling
    • Physical fitness activities
    • Veterinary appointments
    • Support group attendance
  • Activities not listed in this policy are not permitted under this benefit.
  • Time used under this policy does not reduce an employee’s regular work schedule; it is treated as flextime, not paid time off, and must be made up within the same workweek in coordination with the employee’s manager.
  • All requests require advance approval by the employee’s manager, consistent with other flextime requests.
  • Managers are encouraged to support requests when feasible but may deny them if they conflict with business needs or performance expectations.
  • Employees are responsible for meeting all job requirements unless specifically exempted by their manager.
